About Our Feng Shui Lineage

杨公三元三合風水

Master Yang Yun Song — The Sage of Feng Shui

Founder of the Yang Gong Feng Shui Tradition

  • Life and Legacy
Master Yang Yun Song (also known as Yang Gong) was a brilliant scholar and government official during the Tang Dynasty. Gifted in both intellect and virtue, he once held high positions such as Minister of Rites and Director of the Imperial Archives.

Following the Huang Chao Rebellion, Yang Gong left the court to live in seclusion, traveling across the mountains and rivers of southern China. Under the guidance of the hermit Bai Hezi, he mastered the mystical teachings of the Nine Heavens Xuannu and dedicated his life to helping the people.

In Gan Prefecture (modern Jiangxi), he refined the art of Feng Shui, teaching geomancy not as a privilege of the elite but as a way to uplift ordinary lives. His compassion and insight earned him the honored title “Yang the Savior of the Poor” (楊救貧) — a name still revered today.

  • The Yang Gong Feng Shui System
Yang Gong created a complete, scientific, and holistic Feng Shui system, laying the foundation for all classical schools that followed.

    Key Principles:

  • Harmony of Heaven and Earth: The balance of Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, and natural energy flow.

  • Integration of Ancient Wisdom: Merging the Bagua, Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, and cosmic patterns into one unified method.

  • The Union of Mountain and Water: Recognizing that true prosperity arises when form and energy complement each other.

  • Guided by Compassion: His teachings emphasize not just wealth and success, but also peace, health, and moral virtue.

Famous Works:
Among his many writings are The Dragon Vein Sutra (龍脈經), The Green Dragon Secret (青囊奧語), and The Jade Ruler Sutra (玉尺經) — enduring classics that continue to guide Feng Shui masters worldwide.

  • Enduring Influence
Yang Gong’s wisdom was passed down through generations of disciples, inspiring the development of both the Form School (Xing Shi Pai) and the Principle School (Li Qi Pai) of Feng Shui.

Today, his philosophy remains a cornerstone of authentic Chinese geomancy, uniting tradition and science, nature and humanity.

For this, he is honored as the “Ancestor of Feng Shui Geography” (風水地理之祖) — the guiding light for all who seek harmony, prosperity, and balance through the art of Feng Shui.
